Hey all, I find myself slowly warming to the idea of writing again, and I've got an idea in mind. But would you guys rather have your femdom stories written in 1st person, or 3rd person?
1st person is like "Veronica reached over and grabbed MY cock, her slick fingers playing with just the head, driving me absolutely crazy. It felt even better than my own hand!"
3rd person is like "Veronica reached over and grabbed JEFF'S cock, her slick fingers playing with just the tip, driving him absolutely crazy! It felt even better than HIS own hand!"
1st person lets you get deep inside one character's head, hear his internal thoughts and motivations. But some people can't feel immersed that way.
3rd person is more like watching a movie or a play, you're observing people's actions from outside, and revealing thoughts are a little more clunky. But you can hop into rooms where the main character isn't, which is needed for a larger cast, where things happen when some characters aren't around.
Other Option: "Don't Care"
I'm fully expecting this to be split exactly in thirds, 33% for 1st, 33% for 3rd, 33% for Don't Care, but if you have strong preferences, comment below! (I tried to add a poll to Blogspot but every company wanted to charge me to host a poll site and that's rubbish.)
Don't expect the story for a while though, it's a planned 2025 story, I'm just doing the pre-plannin now.
Thanks all, and hope everyone is keeping safe!

A for me :)
ReplyDeleteB. It is too difficult to develop characters with dialog when writing 1st person.
ReplyDeleteB. Nice to hear that you got some of your motivation back to write some more. Hope you are doing well. Excited for 2025.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above 1st person is more in-depth but harder to write, if i had to pick one it is 3rd person or perhaps your could incorporate segments or snippets of 1st person in...
ReplyDeleteExcited to see what you come out with next when you are ready, I have ideas haha :)
B. Third person!
ReplyDeleteGenerally I'm fine with both- But with your stories specifically, third person is part of your 'house style'. I just think I'd find it distracting to adjust to 1st person for your distinctive way of writing.
Thanks cuz! I've been reading a lot of reddit Gone Wild stories recently, and they're all 1st person and fast and intimate, ("This happened to ME") and maybe that's coloring me.
DeleteBut thanks for saying that I have a 'House Style!' If I do, I guess it is 3rd, because the environments are usually wild, they can't have happened to me.
Thanks everyone for the feedback, this makes it easier!
Well, I’d say the answer is C, but it’s not because I’m not interested. Every story has its own vibe, and whether it’s told in the first or third person really depends on what kind of feel you want for it.
ReplyDeleteTake family stories, for example, which are super common here. A first-person story from the son would come off totally different than one from a sister or a mom, with totally different motivations and thoughts (and hey, having a female narrator in the first person in femdom stories is something we don’t see much of — it could be a fun twist and really interesting to read!). A third-person viewpoint can give a more laid-back and broader take on things, but it might miss the chance to connect on an emotional level.
So, it really just comes down to what you want to share in each story and for each character.
P.S. First or third person, I love many of your stories! Hope my English is okay.
Appreciate the question.... Cop-out here, I'm a "B", but know sometimes stories just work better in 1st-person... So some "C" too (go whichever way the story you want to write takes you), but yeah, a "B"...
ReplyDeleteRegardless, good to hear from you, PFD, and hope things are going well for you...
Third! Great to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteI vote B. It does not take away from the story if it's first person, but 3rd person is just my preferred way. Maybe all the stories I read in school were 3rd person? *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteI also vote B! Mainly because it’s more conducive to hearing the internal thoughts and impacts of events on all characters. That said, if you can figure out a good way to achieve that from a first person (particularly female) perspective I’d be very interested in that too!
ReplyDeleteB- I'D LIKE FEMDOM STORIES TO BE IN THIRD PERSON. I am delighted to hear that you are thinking about writing again. Please continue with Mailgirls Save The World. Part One opened up amazing possibilities for a writer of your caliber.
ReplyDeletevoting for B myself... But in the end up to you as long as you found your muse again! Literally kept checking in every week for updates even tough you warned us there wouldnt be many if any this year..
ReplyDeleteAs long as it is cruel, unfair and brutal edging everything is good..
Definity 3rd person but with touches of 1st also Dee perhaps some more short stories like you know the rules, emergency and tell us a secret that style is great and may be easier for you to write, hopefully less pressure.
ReplyDeleteWill you be doing a poll or taking asks on what to write next?
Happy to hear from you love your work
Third person for sure. I prefer my fiction to read like fiction. I always find almost all of those stories on reddit pretending to have happened in real life to be ridiculous. I read that in a story, and I inmediately lose interest.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely go with C; though like others it's more that I think that it varies depending on the story.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what more I can add to the conversation. I'll just say C. I've messed with all manner of POV's myself, both for experimentation, and for whether I want a broad view or a more personalized view.
ReplyDeleteReally just depends on what you want to concentrate on: the perspective and focus and deeper emotion/mental exploration that first person (or even third person limited brings), or are you wanting to whip through multiple perspectives to catch all the action and give a sense of scale and scope to everything going on.
I think you do well with third person omniscient, but if you want to try something else out for experimentation, or a certain character is calling to you for a deeper exploration, go for it. If you're looking to maximize audience appeal and don't care yourself one way or the other, you may as well stick with the style you're already good at and keep working on refining that.
C, but delighted you're thinking of writing again!
ReplyDeleteEach mode has its pros and cons of course. But who said any given tale has to be all in just one mode? You're the writer, just like a movie director you have COMPLETE control of how the story is presented to your audience. There's no law that forces you to stick with a single viewpoint or style. You can switch around, from scene to scene. One moment seeing things from the viewpoint and thoughts of a character, another moment in 3rd person - for instance to show something that happened when there are no observers other than the story audience. The choice of when to switch, is an art just like all the rest of it. Give the reader an understanding of why you are doing it. Or just surprise them...
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad to hear your muse is returning from her holiday. Now strip her, give her a sound spanking, then shackle her to your writing desk.
Cheers,
SensoryOverlord
Hey, are you still active?
DeleteYeah, what's up?
DeleteThanks for your interest. Very little I'm afraid. I still *want* to write, but life dramas are not giving me much opportunity. I post a little here: https://www.girlspns.com/viewtopic.php?p=25047#p25047
DeleteApologies, SensoryOverlord
B, 3rd person for me please (and you know I want plenty of spanking as well as the endless tease denial).
ReplyDeletePersonally prefer B, but C is the right answer here; never feel forced to stifle your creativity or writing style just because it's not the more popular choice.
ReplyDeleteYou and Salamando_Flames (which I see had commented here as well, talk about worlds colliding lol) are some of my fav authors of this genre. Always love to read more of your works,
if and when they do come.
B
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the traditional PFDee 3rd person style. I think it makes it easier to understand what's going on over the course of the plot by being able to describe things outside of the characters viewpoint. When so much of the horny stuff relies on the characters feeling exposed, vulnerable or desperate, I think the bit of distance given by the 3rd party perspective helps to enhance that.
Definitely B. My favorite part about your stories is hearing the women's thoughts as she dominates.
ReplyDeleteI think you should do whatever you want. Your technique is quite good and you should definitely continue with your cocksitter club stories.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy all your writings, I would enjoy the 1st person, female, approach to femdom
ReplyDeleteOoh, more stories! Nice.
ReplyDelete(B)
I highly prefer 3rd person. Somehow I rarely see good stories in the 1st person, and I find it easier for immersion if it's in 3rd
Exciting and 3rd, can you give us a hint or teaser of what you are working on Dee ??
ReplyDeleteA, I prefer first person, it just has a closeness which I don’t get with third.
ReplyDeleteBefore I answered I looked back, my favourite story of yours is Sorority Sisters, which is written in the first person. I felt it a lot more than others and was on that ride rather than observing it.
Not to say third person doesn’t have it’s place though, but I’d rather be in a kink scene rather than observing one.
